The Farmer’s Wife creates award-winning breakfasts, sandwiches, salads and soups using seasonal, locally-sourced and organic ingredients, including pastured eggs and meat (think Sonoma County Meat Company and handmade sausage). Founder and chef Kendra Kolling describes her menu as “slow food on-the-go” and “the food I would feed my family.” Kendra, wife of a longtime Sebastopol apple farmer, also cofounded the local apple product company Nana Mae’s Organics, which supports the preservation of the apple orchards of Sonoma County. She started The Farmer’s Wife as a popup at farmer’s markets, where she sources 97% of her ingredients.
