All About Designer

The one article of clothing I can’t live without is…
My black Crane tunic dress. It’s the most comfortable and versatile thing I own.
If I could dress anyone in the world, I would love to dress…
Audrey Hepburn. She is a fashion icon and so classic.
My signature color is…
Poppy Red. This color can liven up any outfit with a lip color or as an accessory.
If I weren’t in fashion biz I would love to…
Own a small wine bar, be a food blogger or Pilate’s instructor.
When I am not at Tamarind, I am…
Hanging out with my puppy and husband either biking, swimming, or wine tasting around Sonoma County.
I never leave home without…
A scarf or wrap.
I knew I had a thing for fashion when…
I was four years old. I used to sit and watch our Japanese exchange students draw amazing animated characters and all I wanted to do was learn how to bring creativity to illustrations like them
The name Tamarind was inspired by…
By brainstorming with my family. We wanted to come up with a name that would encapsulate the uniqueness of what we represent in the store. Somehow Tamarind was brought up and my husband was the first to joyfully express that Tamarind was a fruit bearing tree he loved while growing up in Africa. My stepfather mentioned it was his favorite sweet flavor offering in Mexico. My mother said when she lived in Japan that she loved the cooking sauces made using Tamarind. We found the perfect parallel flavor, a flavor that was globally recognized but unique in itself. Tamarind Boutiques style and aesthetic was just that.
